In Fifa 17 i loved his TOTGS 81 rated CM card. I also loved the IF Lahm. Now that Lahm retired it seems Kimmich got his position and now he is my "new Lahm". And he plays just as IF Lahm in Fifa 17!

I know, most of you may be put off by his speed. You say as fullbacks they need 85+ sprint speed. I beg to disagree. Yes, you need quick defenders to catch a Ronaldo or Neymar or Hazard. But only if your fast fullback can't position himself or you like to pull out your defenders. Speed is not everything and you can counter it with good positioning and while i was coming up against some strong teams, Kimmich stopped C.Ronaldo and not even once:)

If i got your curiosity then lets see the pros and cons of this IF card.

Pros

His basic dribbling and passing is as good as high rated winger, high 80s and 90s! With 93 crossing and 90 short passing you can build your play from the back and he can run up the field to get a lethal cross in to score an easy header. Or scissor kicks if you fancy some style in your gameplay:)

With that 87 balance, agility and reactions not even Lukaku can push him around, this little guy (176cm/5,9) is as strong as a jalapeño! Oh yeah, slap an anchor chem style on him, as i did, and he will also have 80 strength and 90 aggression. With that even Suarez will be afraid to take a bite at him!

Now with that anchor chem, comes the next big bonus... 90+ defending stats. Yeah... he will be always in a perfect position and his tackles will poke the ball off even from Ronaldinho's foot.

His acceleration is 90 with anchor and his sprint speed is 73. And we have arrived the negatives. Well "negatives".

Con(s)

The maximum speed of this card with anchor is 73. For me, who tells his fullbacks to stay back (yeah sometimes it doesn't matter we all know this) so anyway, that is much more than enough as Kimmich has high agility and balance, and he is not that tall, he feels much faster than 73.

But let me explain a little more why this is not a con!

So his maximum speed, which he reaches instantly when you pull the trigger, is still faster then the oncoming winger or attacker. Why? Because your opposition needs to control the ball, decide where to run, and here comes in play the attackers stats, dribbling, ball control, composure, acceleration, sprint speed, aggression, strength, agility and balance. This is why a "slower" defender can catch up to even a fast striker! If the striker has not needlessly bad, only average stats in those fields, your defender will catch up and muscle him off the ball! (but if you pull out your defenders, run off to god knows where, not even Bailly will get back in time, keep that in mind! Defending is a mind and patience game!)

I hope i helped you out guys a little with this review, and why you should give chances some players you think would not worth it to even try out! Also, worth. I bought him 19.250 coins now he goes around the 28.000 mark (xbox one). I think he still worth it. For future SBCs too:)

This card works wonders ladies and mostly gentleman. Though his pace is a turnoff to 95% of players it really isn't that bad. Why? Cause you can slap a shadow on him, because he's great at everything else. Now your saying he's still slow even with the Chem, wrong he glides up and down the side line starting counters and slots perfect through balls down the wing or into your strikers. Don't get me started on his crosses... he's been a gem with those. He's not a goal scorer but man he can set them up better than any RB in the bundesliga. I bought him at 22k and though I'm a profit junky when he's 60k rn I'm keeping him. He's won man of the match for me numerous times.

Do not buy.

I want to love this card so badly, my main team to start this year is Bundesliga and there really isn’t an elite option at RB.

At first glance it seems like IF Kimmich has it all, the stats on this card are bonkers, he has the sixth highest In Game Stats total out of every non-Icon card in the game. Passing? Incredible. Dribbling? Excellent. Defending? Stalwart. Has infinite Stamina to keep up with late game attacking subs, good jumping to clear lobbed through balls, enough strength to not get bullied by the stronger wings. His Shooting is average, but enough to bang in wide open opportunities, which is adequate for a RB.

So where’s the hang up? Pace is slightly low, but that’s nothing a Shadow card can’t fix … right? Turns out, in this case, no.

IF Kimmich has one glaring and irredeemable weakness: Sprint Speed - 68

The most you can add to Sprint Speed via chemistry is +10, so In Form Kimmich’s max possible Sprint speed is 78, and that’s nowhere near enough. The pacey wingers that everyone uses have 15-20 Sprint Speed advantage and they will run by him like he’s not even there. Maybe you can get away with this against the AI in Squad Battles but any competent online opponent is going to run his attack through the LW all game long and torch you.

Alternatives?

Piszczek - Rock Solid in defence, decent on the attack but you’ll miss Kimmich’s passing and dribbling. Also has Long Throw which can be fun sometimes.

Weiser - Great speed and dribbling, including 4 star skills, will let you down on defence sometimes.

RIP Joshua Kimmich, let’s all hope for another Bundesliga RB In Form.
